Eight Months? Really? yikes.

Well ladies, even though that lame hornell girl hasn't officially updated, I have a computer science project I'm avoiding and thought now would be a fabulous time to update.

This will be long but hopefully not too boring.

For those of you losers who were NOT at Faith on Sunday for Easter, you missed one heck of a boring time. I'm really not liking that church too much except for seeing faces of people I've known since I was 3. Good thing I only go to church 2 times a year and they gave me a $500 scholarship...oops.

Well where to start... We’ll try going by month because lately I've been a list maker.

August-

  • Formal Recruitment for Alpha Xi Delta was fun to prepare for but I wasn't there for the actual recruitment week because I was at marching band. We got an amazing number of girls and it was a really good year for our chapter.
  • School started and I applied for the school of education which Pam Voves wrote me a recommendation for, I got in! Which was good seeing as I've wanted to teach since I was 5 and have no back up plan whatsoever.

September-

  • Iowa football and marching band consumed my life.

  • Classes taken: Space and Functions, Abstract Algebra, Educational Psychology and General Chemistry (think chem with Pettus but WAY easier)

  • Math Classes were hard. They consisted of Spaces and Functions, and Abstract Algebra which halfway through the semester I found out were the two hardest classes in my program and I was an idiot for taking them at the same time. But it is good to know my hard proof courses are done with.

  • My Tuesday and Thursday afternoons were filled with a little girl named Gretta for the entire fall and I miss her a lot! She was 13 months when I started babysitting her. adorable.

October-

  • I got a little sis in the house named Rachel. She later dropped the house due to personal reasons but is moving back in this fall!!! Yay!

  • Iowa started sucking at football and it made me very very sad.

  • Two of my really good friends Caitlin and Katy came home to GE with me. It was a blast.
November-

  • I went to the bars in Iowa City for the first time ever. Fell in love and now actually enjoy going out.

***This is Samantha, Amy, Me and Caitlin - three of my best friends here.***

  • Was selected as my chapters MVP (Membership Vice President) which means I basically am in charge of organizing recruitment and making sure we have enough members so our house is getting bigger.
December-
  • Finals. Boo.

  • Worked Toys R Us as usual.

  • Secured my fabulous nannying job for another summer in GE
January-
  • Went to San Antonio with the marching band upon which I decided not to do marching band next year. It will be too much of a time commitment and I realized I like my friends outside of band a lot and don’t want my life consumed with HMB.

  • Classes started: Computer Science (ew), Technology in the Classroom, Foundations of Geometry, Orientation to Secondary Ed, Teaching Reading in Secondary Content Areas, Foundations of Education

  • Had a “semi-formal” recruitment weekend on campus and we got 2 amazing new girls!

February-

  • DANCE MARATHON! I was a Morale Captain Assistant and loved every minute of it.

  • ***Caitlin, Lauren, me and Samantha- MCAs wear Tye-dye!!!***

  • Recruitment time was over. We ended up with 7 new girls total.

  • I repainted my room! It is now coral. You’ll have to see it.

  • Mom’s day for Alpha Xi Delta happened to be the day of an huge Ice Storm but my mom came anyway and we had a really fun time.
March-
  • I interviewed and was selected as MORALE CAPTAIN for DM 2008!(So is Rachel Webster...not so sure how I feel about that)

  • I went to South Carolina with 4 fabulous ladies. It was really fun and I got to see Stephanie Lynn!

  • I got another Little Sis named Abby who is fabulous beyond belief.

***Me and Abby on Big Sis revealing - She's not really little though, she's 5'11"!***

April-
  • A lot of social stuff going on with various organizations

  • Planning everything for formal recruitment this fall has taken over my life

  • I’m 20 in like 17 days? YIKES!

  • School is almost over which makes me so happy because my classes are way boring this semester.

I think that is pretty much it! No new boys as of late but there are 11 very cute boys on Morale this year and they are all really nice so we'll see. Alpha Xi Delta has run my life mostly but it is fun and I'm really liking it. Minus the occasional dramatic incident.

Lindsay Hornell is coming to IOWA next year which means even if it isn't Laura, I'll still get some Hornell in my life.

Anything else...just ask me :o) Although I think I pretty much covered it.

Oh, Jane Schwartz is running for the District 41 school board. Vote for her/tell your parents to vote for her.

Alright, I'm off to Steak and Shake...this post has taken me almost an hour to format and add pictures to so let's hope it posts.

Laura, get your ass in gear and post something. AJ I like your post and the fact that you add music, Stephanie Lynn I hope you had a fab 20th birthday. Your card has yet to be put in the mail but it is sitting on my desk just waiting to be sent.

Love you all!!!!

p.s. my name on here used to be Schwartz but I figured if we were trying to hide identities, that wasn't the best way to secure our blog. hence Bex was formed.

Aw....HERE IT GOES!

Alright, so this is it. I'm diving in.

I'm eating Ramen right now, and I'm thinking this is going to be a long, long, long post. So prepare yourselves.

Okay, well, my life right now: West Side Story, George Zerante, Annie Rix, summer jobs.

I'm in West Side Story right now, we opened this Thursday the 5th and the show has gone extremely well these past two nights. I'm the tomboy who follows the Jets around, 'Anybodys', and so far it's basically the most fun I've had all semester. The show closes next Sunday the 15th with a matinee, so if anyone wants to see it, let me know *wink* because I'll be around for sure. It's a lot of fun, and since I'm almost one of the Jets most of my rehearsal time was spent with a massive amount of attractive guys who can sing, dance, and act, which if no one knows, is seriously the hottest thing ever sometimes. If they can also play the guitar and are great at sports it's basically a package deal. Oh, unless they're mean. But since none of them are, it's a fabulous time. I had to cut my hair for the part, so if anyone's seen facebook pictures it's a lot shorter than it's been in a while. When the pictures of the show are posted soon, I'll put some up on this thing.

Okay, George Zerante-a very nice boy indeed. So, since it's been so long since I've talked to all of you, and if you didn't know, Matthew Peck and I aren't dating anymore, we just thought it wasn't a very good idea for us, you know how it goes. We're still friends, I saw his family over St. Patrick's day and that was nice. BUT, shortly after Matt and I broke up (ick, don't tell on me) I started dating George. He's really sweet, pretty funny, and we get along way better than Matt and I ever did just based on the fact that we actually talk and we aren't uncomfortable around eachother--because, oh jeez, we were so awkward together, Matt and I. Gah, so here's George at his best (which I see in pictures very seldom):
He's the taller one. The teeny one is my friend Hannah, and just so you know, this picture was taken at our 'Kegger for Kancer' that we held as a fundraiser for Relay For Life and it ended up getting busted by the cops. Just so you know (because I'm pretty proud of that).

Yes, so that's George. He's graduating this year, so that stinks because we already know that we're breaking up when he leaves so it just puts a damper on our fun levels, you know. He lives in Bloomingdale, right by Stratford, but we just don't think we can do it. We got involved knowing that it wouldn't last long, so as lame as it sounds it's a "good while it lasted" type of thing I think. Alas, thus is life.

Oh, and yeah, I love Annie Rix.

And as for the summer, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing. The lease for my apartment here at school starts in the beginning of June but I know I'm not living here this summer because there aren't a whole lot of options for a job out here, you know, in the middle of Illinois. Oh and don't worry, the rent would be more expensive if we were just renting for fall and spring semester, so I'm not just throwing away money by not living here this summer.
I'm living with these lovely ladies:
Annie, Elaine, Kelly, and AJ (that's me)

My other option is living in Milwaukee. Beth is getting a new apartment with two friends and they're looking at a place that has a den that they don't really need, so there's talk of me staying there, rent free (since they'd all be living there anyway) and just paying for utilities, and if so I would work at my sister's restaurant that's very much like the Village but seafood and in the middle of a big city and not in Carol Stream. And that was a very long run-on sentence. So hopefully if I went to Milwaukee I'd make waaaay more money than I would at the Village Tavern and Grill, but I still have to weigh my options and see what's really the most profitable. After all, college is pretty expensive, and who would have thought.

So, that's that. For now, at least. I'm a little shocked that I couldn't think of more topics to discuss, usually I've got a billion things running through my head when I do these things. Oh well, there's always next week for more of an update. And as for you ladies, what are you up to? Any new boys? New hobbies? Updates on Sorority life or life on the coast? I can't wait to hear from all of you.

And again, to leave you with a song, here goes nothing. I'm going to leave an Amazon link and I expect you all to listen...I've seriously been obsessed with this song lately, It's in Portugese and my brother sent it to me. OH!!!! gah i forgot to tell you all about our spring break, which was awesome...Gaaaaaaaaaaaaah another time, It would take me decades.
Okay, here's the song link. The song to listen to is called Tropicalia, even though it's the name of the album, too. If you want to be daring you can also listen to Domingo No Parque, which is almost as good of a song as Tropicalia. Enjoy it!

(oh, and if you really want, here are pictures from spring break, there are three different albums that I can explain later if you want... Click this and the e-mail is MJRahm2@aol.com and the password is rahm5484 so go nuts.)

I love you girls!
Love, AJ

Umm we really need to keep in touch better than we are doing

yes ladies,

the title sums it up. I haven't talked to you guys in about well 40 days and 40 nights. haha, like that religious reference? Actually is has been longer than that so it is like I gave you up for lent but hopefully Easter can end this sadness!

I think, if for no other reason than to add one more distraction to me studying for my geometry test on Friday, we should all update this thing with a GOOD post. AKA what the hell you three have been doing these past 4 months.

Aren't our strong Lutheran bonds supposed to keep us together? hahahaha I'm totally kidding on that one. But seriously, I miss you a lot and I expect a post from each of you at which point I will update you on my fabulously boring life here in Iowa City.

POST SOMETHING NOW! and if you can't remember your password...have them send it to you or something...or just type in past passwords from a year ago. I think we should all do this as a tribute to Stephanie Lynn being 20 in two days!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And yes...post now!

Miss you, Love you!

Sorry if I'm whining...but I need an outlet

Oh goodness.

Where to start.

I need to be home. Well for certain reasons. So all my girls on my floor (the roommate (Erika), Ashley and Kim) that Stephanie met while she was here have pretty much become huge bitches. Sorry to be blunt. But it is true. The only girl on my floor I'm getting along with well is Kim Cessna (for Waters, the tall blonde one who likes Friends and is a math major). The thing is, Erika and Kim Carson (the other kim) are fine when Ashley isn't around but when she is...ugh kill me now.

It all started when I joined Alpha Xi Delta. I tried to still be involved with our group but they just got so mad at me. They even started "Delta KAE" (Kim Ashley Erika) and it is the facebook caption for all of their photos and it is basically a stab at me joining a sorority. They've been so exclusive and it makes me SO mad!

After all this drama, I decided NOT to live with Erika next year. I'm living in the house which should be a LOT of fun and I'm really excited. Well now here's the irony...after all the crap they gave me for joining A Xi D, Erika is joining Alpha Delta Pi. What the hell?! Why can she do it without anyone getting mad but when I did, it was a big deal. AHHHHHHHHH

Sorry, I'm just really upset. I know that her joining is a good thing because hopefully she'll see why I did what I did and why I'm looking forward to living in the house. I don't know, it has just been a lot of drama.

But on the bright side, Me and 4 girls from marching band have gotten really close. Amy (who is also in A Xi D), Angie, Laura and Chelsea are SO nice! We have such a good time together and they actually like having me around. I love them!

Ok, sorry for the intenseness of this post but I needed a place to vent where Ashley and them won't see it. I don't even talk to Ashley anymore...I can't stand her! AHHH there will be more stories when we talk this summer (aka brunch as soon as we are all home!)

Finals are coming up...yikes. I have 4 of them :o(

Last weekend i got drunk with Becca Baker...best time of my life! haha! I was supposed to be at Wesleyan for Jeff's graduation with my mom and dad but they dropped me at becca's and we had a little party. It was fabulous. AJ, I was going to call you but kind of forgot, sorry! and tomorrow night me and the girls from band are going out to celebrate my b-day because I was home last weekend.

Alright, that's it. Sorry this is long, I'm impressed if you made it to the end. I LOVE YOU ALL AND MISS YOU!!!!

What the hell? How come everytime I post something it gets deleted? I posted a really sweet one on Becca's birthday. Including many funny anecdotes and a sweet-ass picture. So now all you get is my picture.

Oh, and also, Stephanie, your post reminded me to watch Grey's Anatomy just in time, thanks for being the coolest girl I know.

Along with Becca and Laura...?

Here goes nothing.
